Monster Island, the Asylum's 2019 mockbuster, was released around the same time as Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The film is about a mysterious island where a monstrous creature lives, and the creature is, in a sense, the island itself.


To reduce costs, the film only features a handful human characters. Also, all A-listers will be on one (Click Here) set to allow them to shoot all sequences in lunch. The Asylum might not be as successful because it's a kaiju movie.
